    Copy code
    Built an open-source SQL diagnostics tool — paste any query, get severity-ranked findings with dialect-correct DDL across 5 databases. No DB connection needed.

    New: findings are labelled with three evidence tiers:
    Deterministic — always applies regardless of data
    Schema-verified — verified against your DDL
    Estimated — pattern-based, verify with EXPLAIN

    <https://querytuner.com/> — free, no signup
    <https://github.com/AutoShiftOps/querytuner>

    Especially curious whether the evidence labelling is useful or confusing to real users.

    Is your company's data center consumption contributing to carbon emissions? Europe and other regions have experienced several extreme heatwaves due to climate change and other factors. Data centers have been also an ongoing discussion due to their environmental impact. Wanna get an insight on your company's emissions anonymously? Hi all, Quick question, does anyone here run a dev agency or have an old codebase (a shelved project, a shut-down startup, internal tools nobody uses anymore)? Our agency is looking to license such code bases. Please DM me only if this is relevant to you. Thanks!

    For people who query S3 buckets with very large numbers of objects, github.com/varveio/swath looks interesting. I haven't tested it (my needs are simple), and the author used AI/LLM code generation, but I spot-checked two details that give me confidence. The documentation recommends dynamically listing big buckets as a last resort and mentions AWS-idiomatic alternatives. More importantly, this is one of the few pieces of software I've seen that bothers to set the AWS SDK retry mode, a zero-effort way to increase reliability whenever we use an AWS SDK. (See the 2026-05-20 AWS Developer Tools Blog post, "Announcing updated retry behavior for AWS SDKs and Tools".) I like the way the author used AI not just to generate code but also to explore how other parallel S3 bucket listing tools work. A readily apparent drawback of code generation is vastly increased complexity; there are too many files and too many lines to read. Everything rests on whether comprehensive distributed systems testing is possible and whether the tests have caught potential race conditions.

    Hi guys, I have a question. I'm running a solo consulting company registered in the UK, and I operate on B2B basis. Has anyone like me been able to land projects with US based companies remotely maybe? As per my research and resources I checked so far, I couldn't find any barriers that companies would face in the US to use my consulting services; but if am wrong please correct me. Thank you Note: I'm not talking about government related projects.

    getting your aws/azure/gcp spend into your own database sounds easy, just export it and load it. the annoying part is the cloud keeps rewriting the current month's numbers, so if you're not careful you end up double-counting and your totals don't match the actual bill. decent writeup on doing it without that mess. worth a read if you're building your own cost reporting. dev.to/…/cloud-cost-api-pulling-reconciled-aws-azure-and-gcp-spend-into-your-own-warehouse-csv-json…

    not sure if it is a personal feeling or I indulged in Japanese learning, recently the interesting projects are less, we may consider to use a different license model to encourage innovations, instead of open source license, how about open idea license 🙂

    Hey guys, random question. For people working with SaaS companies, are you seeing much demand for continuous external pentesting these days? Not just automated scanning, but someone continuously testing the external attack surface and only reporting findings they can actually prove/exploit. Been exploring this space recently and curious if companies actually want this, or if most are still happy with annual pentests.

    Random question on Friday so I bet this is the right place. You need to build CICD pipeline to compile, test, dockerize, sign and push to storage from scratch, no questions asked. It has to be generic to support multiple coding langs and their ecosystems in a single monorepo. Approach is to solve it like a Software Engineer - you want to run CICID, compile, test and change locally, like any SWE would do, and then run it on GH Actions, GitLab or whatever, treating the SVC platform as a shim or mere adapter to your CICD at best. What would you do? Am I insane nothing like it exists?

    Hi Folks, I'm new here. I work at Splunk on the OTel team. I was hoping to get some feedback on a new open source project we just launched called Observability Studio (ObStudio), a local OpenTelemetry workspace that helps developers audit, add, and verify instrumentation. The goal is to make OTel simpler to implement and help more teams adopt it. Here's a link to the repo and a getting started guide. If you play around with it, I'd love your feedback. Where does implementation still feel hardest? What would make ObStudio more useful in your workflow? If you don't have an observability backend you can mess around in, we have a very generous free edition of our observability platform here. Thanks! Have a great weekend!

    Hi everyone, We've been building TestRadius, a tool that uses Agentic AI to automate QA, turning natural language flows into autonomous UI and API tests. We're still early and would really appreciate feedback from engineers here if you get a chance to try it out. Early access is free: testradius.dev/login?mode=signup Any thoughts, good or bad, would mean a lot!
