but afaik recent sr behaviour is sane enough

they hash stats to have a proxy for snapshot_id but my pr makes it available via compute stats if you run them

i have not checked backport branches but current main calculates snapshot version as a hash of number of files and other stuff

so after expire snapshot i think it will trigger once, then remember the hash and after that will stay still

cool, btw do you know if it still will work correctly with Iceberg V1 metadata?
