Update: access to Stacker apps has been restored, but we’re investigating issue with the Airtable Authorisation

We’re sending an email out with instructions in a few moments, but here are the instructions for those of you who’ve had your Airtable OAuth revoked: Steps to follow to restore connectivity to your Stacker apps Important: the connection must only be restored by a user who has access to all the Airtable Bases being used in Stacker. 1. Log into your Stacker workspace 2. Find an affected app and click the cog icon to “App settings” 3. Click “Repair” next to the data source, and re-authorize Stacker. 4. During the re-authorization process, you need to authorize every Base used in Stacker, across all of your Stacker apps. The simplest way to ensure this is to select “All current and future bases in all current and future workspaces”. 5. Repeat this process for each Airtable connection in each of your Stacker apps. Once the Airtable connection has been restored, your data will resume our automatic syncs, and you will be able to click the “Data Sync” button to queue up a sync immediately.

Today we’re announcing the next evolution of Stacker publicly: Stacker as the core system to power your business. We know that many of you in our community already use Stacker in this way, and we’ve seen how transformational it can be for businesses, so we have doubled down to build a entirely new version of Stacker around being your core business system. 👀 Read all the details in our announcement post on the Stacker Blog. TL;DR: • Huge upgrade to Stacker Tables: now a scalable data platform to power your business (other data sources coming later this year). • Complete app UI redesign: brand new design for your apps, all new features for lists, detail pages and custom pages. • Brand new technology base: we’ve rebuilt much of the platform from scratch to give a faster, more modern experience as the foundation to build forward on. • Major new version: lots of new features (see our changelog), not a 1-click upgrade, we’ll be helping customers to migrate. This has been our primary focus for the past 6 months, and today we’re ready to onboard new organizations! We’ve refreshed our website to reflect this evolution, and updated our feedback site to show the new features and our updated roadmap. Let us know what you think or if you have any questions! 🪨 Data Platform: new rollups & lookup features • *Count unique values in rollup fields: *Use the display type Count unique values to only rollup unique values in a specific field from a linked table. • *Filter Lookup fields: *Filter the records shown in a lookup field to limit what records appear from the specific field from the linked table. • *Filter Rollup fields: *You can now set data filters on rollup fields to limit what values are counted, summed or averaged in the rollup. 🛠️ Data Grid: new tools to better manage your data • *Page through data on the data grid: *Page through your Data Grid to view all of your data if you have more than 1,000 records. • *Restore Deleted Records: *Deleted records can be restored for up to 7 days, deleted records are accessed by selecting the Trash icon on the tool bar. • *External IDs for Data Loading: *Set any short text field as the External ID field to serve as a unique identifier for the record when exporting/importing data or connecting with a Make.com or Zapier automation. 🎨 App Interface: updates to layouts • *Collaboration indicator visible on list layouts: *View how many items are in the collaboration feed from the list layout without needing to click into the record. • Related Record widgets resize based on records shown: The size of the Related Record list widget will now adjust based on the records in the widget. 🔐 Security: single sign on support • Enterprise Single Sign On: Login to Stacker using Single Sign On Identity Providers like Google Workspace, Active Directory / Azure / Entra ID or any other Identity Provider.

Astra feature update: Share Stacker Data across apps and portals It is now possible to share data across apps! Create and host your data in Stacker tables and share those tables across apps and portals in your workspace. 👩‍💻 Share tables to be edited in other apps or portals 🔐 Set permissions for shared tables 🔁 Data is communicated back to the original table from shared tables This eliminates the need to recreate tables in multiple places and ensure your data is up to date. You can edit a shared table in both the original app or the app you shared to (permissions can be applied to limit what your users can read/update/create). Let us know if you have questions on this! Manage Users with table groups We have improved how we handle managing users in your apps. Add multiple groups of users using your existing data. Choose one table or multiple tables of users from your data to grant access to your apps and assign roles to entire groups. You can use multiple tables or lists of users from your data. 👥 Set up roles from your Table groups. 🗂️ Use multiple tables of users from your data. 👤 Add single users and assign them to a user role or admin role. First Demo of Airtable + Stacker Astra Integration ✨ We've heard you over the past few months that the single feature that many of you are waiting for before trying out Astra is the Airtable integration. Airtable + Stacker Astra Integration: Open for Testing 👀 ✅ We're now ready to have customers try out the Airtable + Stacker Astra integration. This brings two way sync between Airtable and the latest version of Stacker. We'll be making the sync available to everyone early next year, but if you want to try it now, we are now ready to onboard you. ⚠️ Some things to be aware of before the general release: this is an early release, this isn't yet complete production quality software - we're still adding more robustness here, and some of the functionality may change as we do so. Hi all, unfortunately we need to restart the database cluster which serves Stacker Astra within the next hour as part of efforts to contain a potential performance incident. This will case 2-3 minutes of downtime for Astra. Once complete, everything should continue as normal. I apologies for the short notice and disruption. Hello everyone, Today, we’re officially announcing that we’ll be sunsetting the Stacker Astra product, and refocus on our work around allowing organisations to create AI agents to power their operations. Why we’re making this change After a lot of reflection, we’ve decided to sunset Astra. This has been an incredibly hard decision: Astra is the culmination of our vision for what a no-code business platform could look like. Unfortunately, having reviewed all the factors, it’s clear to us that this isn’t a sustainable product for us to continue developing. • Push factors – Lack of adoption, and the rise of AI vibe coding : Astra didn’t gain the kind of adoption we needed to keep investing in it long-term. While some teams loved it, many found Airtable’s growing ecosystem of portals and interfaces increasingly met their needs—making it harder for Astra to stand out or justify switching. At the same time, we’ve seen a surge in teams turning to new AI-powered tools to create highly customized software solutions to their problems. Ultimately, it became clear that maintaining a complex platform like Astra without that strong traction just wasn't the right path forward. • Pull factors – A shift towards AI agents : On the other hand, we've seen a compelling opportunity that continues to align with our core mission: bringing the power of software to every team. We believe the future of that lies less in building software for humans, and more in AI agents that can free people from manual operational tasks and let them focus on more valuable work. Refocusing on this vision means putting our energy into helping teams build these AI-driven agents. We’re excited about where this can take us and the impact it can make in the world. What this means for you • If you were using Astra, we should have already been in touch directly and will continue to support you through the wind-down process. • If you’re using currently Stacker Classic, nothing changes—we’re extending our support commitment so you can keep using it with confidence. It will remain stable, although we won’t be adding any new functionality to it, as we focus on developing our AI agents platform. Most importantly: thank you. To everyone who used Astra, gave us feedback, encouraged us, or even just tried it out—*we’re incredibly grateful*. You helped us learn faster and see more clearly. Your support has shaped where we go next, and we’re excited to keep building the next generation of software.
