one place to look would probably the daemon config and what kind of networks it uses - then check the bridges etc. but first things first: just spawn a small container and check if it can resolve and reach the host like so:

docker run --rm debian:stable ping -c 3 <http://codeload.github.com|codeload.github.com>

If that works, it's probably not your docker stack.
