Oh I’m definitely bringing Daves Bar and Lounge to Something Else. I loved being up on the veranda with the shade. I could definitely use some help setting up on Thursday and bartending during the weekend.2. We don’t have a plan for a beach bar yet but should probably build one. Maybe we should sick one of our “bar leads” on the work of stocking it, decorating it, and/or staffing it?

My art project is the Cock-Climbing Wall. It is a bouldering climbing wall where all the hand/foot holds are genitalia or just funny body parts. Think penises, vaginas, mouths, butts, tentacles, dino-dicks. Only limited by participant imagination. It's supposed to be a purely comedic project, meant to break taboos and provide a fun day-time activity. Maybe I'll get to introduce people to the world of bouldering, that would be great because it is a passion of mine.
I'm organizing a few arts and crafts days where people can sculpt a hold using planter foam (this is common amongst hold makers). From there I will create a silicon negative mold and finally a resin mold.
The grant money would go towards a larger variety of hand holds, taller bouldering wall with more routes, and on-site hold crafting for the first day of the event. I believe both the climbing and the crafting would add extra variety to the event's experiences offered to participants for not just this year but years to come! This is something that can be added to and expanded upon every year. I also would love to have this installation to be used at many other arts events in the future and so this grant would enrich a variety of experiences for years to come.
Below is a summary of how I would distribute the grant. I would supplement what's below to the best of my abilities to build a greater experience depending on what I can personally afford, etc.
• $500
◦ 10 small holds made pre-event
◦ 8' bouldering wall
◦ Crash pads
• $1,000
◦ 13 small holds made pre-event
◦ 10 medium holds
◦ 2 large holds / volumes
◦ 12' bouldering wall
◦ Crash pads
• $2.000
◦ 22 small holds made pre-event
◦ 15 medium holds made pre-event
◦ 3 large holds / volumes
◦ 8 small holds made at event with participants
◦ 16' bouldering wall
◦ Custom furry crash pads
◦ Lighting for night-time use? Requires some technical know-how that has been offered by a couple people from the Nocturne X crew and depends on their level of involvement.
I think we should offer $1k and 2 comp tickets. This sounds pretty good and I think he'll deliver. Thoughts?
