guys, does anybody have any experience with solidus_product_feed ?

it seems to kill the machine solidus is running on

how do you usually generate feeds?

Product feeds for google etc

are best not done in real time

and are more of a delayed job kind of thing

one good way to do it is with Lambdas or serverles

How do you get extensions added to? https://solidus.io/extensions/

How are extensions supposed to override views from Solidus Starter Frontend? i would like to support the new frontend in solidus_dynamic_variants https://github.com/hefan/solidus_dynamic_variants. Because the views are copied, an extension could not deface or override the view! Am i right or am i missing something? I consider it important for solidus_dynamic_variants to override the option types frontend views on the product detail page somehow to show its functionality. Thanks for any hint!

Hi all, hope you are doing well 🙂 We are starting a consultancy service for a company that Solidus covers almost everything in the requirement list, but there is only one thing we couldn't find an existing solution. They need something similar to product_assembly extension, but instead of making the whole configuration in the Backend, they need something like a wizard or step-by-step selection on their customer's end. For example in Computer Machine Selling, they would need to allow the customer select RAM memory among a few options, Processor among a few options, etc. Did you face something like this before? Do you know any extensions that cover this feature needed? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey! I took this weekend and learned how to make extensions finally. IMO a staple of really professional backends where I love to work -- are great graphs and ways of getting information. Solidus is such an awesome platform, but the admin panel could be.. better... -- I want to help improve that long term at Minimal Audio, and here is the first baby step: https://github.com/Minimal-Audio/solidus_chartkick This adds a tab in the admin panel where Chartkick graphs can be displayed, but instead of building a big bulky dashboard full of stuff you may or may not want, you pass a set of lambdas to the configuration object, and that's what pops up on the tab. Eventually i'd like to make it possible to actually create & save "views" similar to something like mixpanel, but this is a great start imo -- atleast for me at minimal, it's the first time i've been able to highlight specific weeks and see what products sold during that period -- really powerful -- and i don't need to pay for a service or pipe data somewhere else. -- It also doesn't create any database migrations so, easy to check out

Hello, just wanted to share my new extension to get DHL Shipment Labels using the DHL "Parcel DE Shipping (Post & Parcel Germany)" API in solidus. DHL is the most common Shipping Service in Germany. https://github.com/hefan/solidus_dhl_label Before i always used SOAP CLients like https://github.com/webit-de/dhl-bcs or https://github.com/waldher/dhl-intraship. The Extension uses the newer DHL Rest API. https://developer.dhl.com/api-reference/parcel-de-shipping-post-parcel-germany-v2?lang=en#get-started-section/. i would be happy if the extension would be of use for someone. Feedback, issues or Pull Requests are welcome!
