Hello! I'm trying to run a self hosted instance and I also need the features of CLI pro . I've signed up for CLI pro and was able to create a token, only to find that I need another subscription to self host. I modified my subscription that allows me to pick either CLI Pro or any of the others, so I'm a bit confused as to which subscription I really need? Do I have to pay for CLI pro and Advanced to self host and be able to write my own api specs?
f
hey @Bruno , if you want a self-hosted platform plan, you'd need the Advanced plan. If you access https://dash.slingdata.io/, you can click on
Self-Hosted Platform
you can sign up there. To write your own specs, you only need one (either CLI Pro or Advanced or Standard actually).
Did you mean to sign up for CLI Pro? I can alter the subscripton Stripe side if you need a change
b
ah, ok. so CLI Pro is included in advanced for the $249?
f
well, no, they're different ways to run sling. Advanced allows you to run the whole platform + UI self hosted + agents
CLI Pro, you have to run things yourself (usually via Dagster, github Actions, cron, airflow)
but to answer your question, Advanced doesn't have CLI Pro bundled. Is that what you had in mind (Advnaced + CLI pro)?
b
I want to: - run the ui using docker in my own infra - be able to create api specs to consume data from different apis What would be needed subscription wise to support this scenario?
f
OK, that's the Advanced. CLI Pro doesnt have the platform + UI
and yes, you can build API specs
b
ok, can you switch my subscription to advanced on your end or should I go on mine?
f
sure, let me see
b
I like the product very much btw. I love the simplicity
f
Great to hear. Ok, can you go to https://dash.slingdata.io/ and click Self-hosted platform, and create a token?
b
yes!
f
Let me know if any issues and questions! feel free to reach out to me at fritz@slingdata.io or here on Discord, whichever
b
thank you very much!
f
@Bruno oh, one more thing since you're into the API specs, check out this repo: https://github.com/slingdata-io/slingdata-ai It's not documented yet, but this should help if you want to use AI to build your specs.
b
that looks sweet
