Would be interested to see Apollo Federation as a way of putting a GraphQL Gateway infront of multiple AppSync services. Currently AppSync is not very scalable nor is one GraphQL Server. So Apollo Router (Rust edition) running in a Fargate with ALB would be cool. Especially with a Cognito pool to top it off

Hey @Joe Kendal, I’m not too familiar with GraphQL federation. I briefly read their docs, they recommend against running the gateway inside Lambda due to cold start. Is that why you wanted it to run inside Fargate?

Exactly the reason. It takes it a while to join all the subgraphs into one big supergraph because it has to introspect a bunch of endpoints and create a single schema. I haven't worked with it yet, but am planning to once the public beta is out for Apollo Router.
