Hey Alex, for Docs you have to explicitly set who can edit the Doc. Being Public means it’s viewable by anyone. In the screenshot you can see that I own the Doc and Etai can edit it

Ah, I didn't understand that adding someone as a viewer from that box would enable me to add them as an editor. Thanks!

Or at least be able to add a group to the doc
