That’s one of the big goals that we have with Secoda, is to help people understand what would be impacted by a change to a table and the people associated with those effected resources.
In terms of concrete things that can help this in the near future we’re doing a couple of things:
1. Adding a visual lineage component to help you trace back lineage from a chart (tile) to it’s associated table and everything in between.
2. Better notifications for when schemas change and the downstream dependency owners that are effected.
3. Improved lineage between Looker and data warehouses. You’ll be able to upload your LookML GitHub repo which is a rich source for understanding what tables are linked to what models
