Here's some documentation I added to a table that my team can see even though I didn't have the opportunity to publish. It also doesn't show up in the list of assets to publish. We've noticed this happening with tag changes and minor fixes on existing assets as well as with net new assets.

Let me look into this for you, Julie!
Automatically publishing only applies to the documentation editor, so what you are seeing is expected behavior. However, we have a project in process that will resolve this - and we're hoping by end of May. I will keep you updated!
Hi Julie, I wanted to check back in on this. We are currently working on a v2 of a Publishing Workflow Project within Secoda. We want to gather as many customer use cases as possible. Could you expand on what your expected workflow for this would be?
d
I would like to make edits with my data team before they automatically publish to all viewers
Like Secoda used to do
w
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I clicked into the link you shared and you should be able to change the Status to Draft up at the top
d
Ah! Gotcha! That must have been a new update we missed. It used to not auto-publish. We were still expecting the workflow where we make edits on a draft by default and then have to choose to publish.
This makes sense. Thanks!
w
No problem! Would you prefer the default to be draft until you click publish?
d
No, actually. This is a really good workflow. I like the idea that we can edit typos on the fly without having to publish, but if we want to make significant changes we have the option to switch to draft. This is really good, we just hadn't realized the new workflow was in place
w
Okay great! I'm glad I reached out - sorry I hadn't earlier!
d
No worries. I hadn't followed up either. TBH, the hardest part of using Secoda well is keeping up with all the rapid updates and feature expansion. It is a good problem to have.

I appreciate that you followed up!

Of course!🎉
