Having dedicated alternative, competitor comparison landing pages and use Paid ads (with competitor outrank approach) plus have a blog theme which gives commentary on overall landscape while pushing your own company in a subtle way had helped (use email newsletter, social channels - paid) for this Hope this helps!

The thing is Google is now pushing listicle for these kind of keywords. I am planning to do something that people at Helpscount did. They have listicle for all the competitors and they are on top for most of the competitor keywords.
