Following
i am guessing it would need dev expertise
by personal email id you mean domains like gmail.com etc right?
1 options is embed the hubspot form in 2 pages (1 which restricts) and 1 which doesnt
use some geo redirection tool/devops to send traffic to appropriate form based on country
l
Yes i mean the domains like gmail.com
Its a good option to embed form in 2 pages but we will end up having multiple pages with duplicate content.
n
whats the reasonng behind doing this?
l
So whole idea is to exclude gmail.com domains from India as its not our target region and want to keep it only for US.
n
why not just filtered out in CRM and ignore? i am just trying to understand if that would be the lowest tech option
Do yo incur a huge cost of allowing such leads to be created?
l
Yes this can be done like ignoring but wanted to make sure that if we create a report/dashboard in hubspot which shoes the correct numbers.
a
@Lal K George why not accept all leads regardless and tackle them in your lead assignment/filtering logic?

Yes. Create an active list with domains containing Gmail and country India and maybe unassign them or assign them to a default user. You could also add to unqualified. So, in your reports, you can use this to filter out these to show the correct numbers.

We had created a property called โ€œfree domainโ€ and marked every sign up which signed up with a gmail/yahoo/yopmail as yes. To identify these domains - we created a workflow and put a list of free/disposable email providers with the logic, email contains this - mark as free domain = Yes And then every report / dashboard we just filtered out by free domain https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/what-domains-are-blocked-when-using-the-forms-email-domains-to-block-feature Hubspot also allows you to restrict free mail form fills- you could try that or use the list in this article to create your workflow. Hope this helps :)

This is interesting. Thanks for sharing. Will try out the above given options..

The workaround we use - We do not use HubSpot forms to collect the leads. We use our own form (Where we validate/block email IDs to complete) & then pass the lead info using HubSpot API. This lets us have complete control of which domains get to enter our system. As & when we observe a new random domain, we manually block them. Collecting personal IDs unnecessarily wastes S/M bandwidth.

HubSpot provide an option in the form setting itself. You can add country field in the form and apply logic optiin

You should switch this on for all geos, on the longer run it is quite pointless to have personal email ids (unless you have a B2B2C model).
