I am an active or an ex member of most of these groups for the last 2-3 years. Most of them tend to start on a high note and turn into a graveyard with PH spam links and barely any activity or benefit to the users. If I were to do this, here's are a couple of things I would keep in mind. • Make it private, not everyone gets access. Only screen and qualified folks • Higher barrier to entry- active PH activity could be a good proxy metric • Set ground rules about the engagement, if someone is opting for launch support they should ideally share their pre launch planning and should share results post launch. • Mandatory custom offer to all members by the product launching. • Allow support and personal DM to members. ( if anyone has issues with personal DM don't include them) • Mandatory whatsapp broadcast group, no other channel with get the justified traction/impressions required to hit #1

I like the above points. Ensures this doesn’ turn into a spam zone.

Really interesting points for any community I think. But if we were to keep this simpler and just have an opt in channel, wouldn’t that resolve all of this by default? Would the downside of potentially not having enough members in the channel on the get go make this option unviable? If it becomes spam, or you think it’s becoming spam, leave the channel, simple?

@Vignesh (e6data) Every PH for PH upvote community is opt in and it doesn't address any of this. Activation is always much harder than acquisition in all freemium models for a reason. Not having enough members is not an issue as long as there are active members, PH calculates the weightage of active members but ignores the dormant accounts. If it becomes spam leave the channel - What's the point of doing this if it's going to defeat the purpose of starting it at the first plac?
