@Sid @Shaf worth experimenting or polling the community?

People crib in providing a salary range in the jobopps form. So this is too idealistic of a change to expect

This is great actually. It helps me understand if it's worth pursuing it. I know companies like HelpScout do this and it works fairly well.

It's one field less in the form 😅

Why can’t he just provide a range by putting the actual salary at the higher end of the range and subtracting some number to arrive at the lower end? Wouldn’t that solve everything without having to write a LinkedIn post?
n
If a job desc says 10-25lpa, as a candidate I would think they can pay me 25lpa 😅
v
Yeah, so use the exact salary he’s going to now pay as the high end, subtract 15K and put that as the low end. So you’ll get what you want, he’ll get what he wants. Right?

I think this is a dumb take, respectfully. First of all, Salary ranges are supposed to be like 16-18LPA. Not 10-25LPA like @Niranjan Bala pointed out. If I’m applying for a job and they pay me the lower end of the spectrum, I wouldn’t feel cheated. Or if they paid me the high end, they won’t feel like they’re overpaying. The other thing about if you fit the JD like a glove, you’ll get the salary listed, but otherwise we’ll go back and see what can be done is a weird position to take. Don’t all good companies say even if you don’t tick all boxes, feel free to apply? Because so many people FEEL like they don’t qualify even if they do. Plus in the job market, if any candidate is a 100% fit, you are setting yourself up for attrition. This whole stunt seems like it’s contrarian for the hell of it with no real insight behind it.

@Muru bro do tell how can you point out something as dumb - respectfully 🙃

If you are already at 16-18, 18-18 is right at the corner 😇
I agree in some parts that it's a double edged sword if you had put 16-18 , someone who internally values themselves as a 15lpa is less likely to apply if they see 18lpa as the salary listed in the opportunity
