Hey everyone, has anyone worked with Pipedrive before? I am using Pipedrive for the first time and I wanted to know what are the best ways to utilize it?

Hard to help on such broad questions. If you are able to specific scenarios - your odds improve

I have recently started working with a new client, their sales team uses pipedrive to track their leads. I did see a couple of tutorials and Pipedrive best practices videos on YouTube but nothing beats a real scenario conversation that can help me understand the tool better. Couple doubts I have to begin with: how does associating organisation to a deal help? How can I better manage leads to understand the quality of deals? Currently they are doing it manually and I dont have a proper leads data What can sales team do better to so leads are properly marked (in reference to stages) Basically I am comparing Pipedrive to Hubspot (because I have used hubspot before) and facing a hard time understanding the tool.

I have not personally used pipedrive, so hard to say anything. how does associating organisation to a deal help? i do it mostly for 2 reasons - it helps in reporting at times + it feels the right thing to do (first principle) How can I better manage leads to understand the quality of deals? it largely depends on how the sales process are setup and very much depends on company's gtm etc What can sales team do better to so leads are properly marked document the sales process - enforce very rigidly either a manual/fully automated/hybrid
i would be very finicky in adding custom properties - unless there is a strong justification

Hey Rima, we're currently using Pipedrive. I've used HubSpot & Customer.io in the past. It's fair to say that Pipedrive is a bit complex to start with but is good value for money if you want a basic Sales CRM. Your questions depend on which industry you're working in. We're a B2B product so our use cases were more to handle follow-ups, deal stages & do a pipeline forecasting.
How does associating organisation to a deal help?
• If you have only 1 product that you might be selling, You can track the progress of the deal and have pipeline stages. • But associating helps massively when you have multiple deals (products). Plus multiple Sales & Customer touchpoints.
How can I better manage leads to understand the quality of deals?
• You will first have to breakdown your pipeline and categorise the Deals in stages so you can keep a track of it. • Allocate a deal value to each so that you know the pipeline strength. You will eventually realise you may have to increase efforts on your reach out (MQLs) • Maybe if deals are blocked after SQL, you may have to improve your lead nurturing proceses
Currently they are doing it manually and I dont have a proper leads data
• You will need a bit of automation with tools like Apollo etc. to qualify and enrich the leads. (You can do Apollo/SaaS tools or hire a Sales agency who do these tasks as well)
What can sales team do better to so leads are properly marked (in reference to stages)
Automate a few processes with Pipedrive 🙂 • We send an via email immediately anyone fills up the form via Pipedrive • We also have Slack triggers so that team is aware of any new movement in deals etc. • We also use their Reporting etc. so that you get basic insights • You can also add a Follow-Up task date so that you don't miss out on leads (after successful demos)
