I would suggest you get separate domains (and multiple ones) for sending cold email. Using sub-domain is still risky as people/softwares can still mark your parent domain for spam as against just your sub-domain. Another benefit of using completely different domains is that you get better control, you can a/b test deliverability, a/b test email softwares, content etc.

Always use separate similar domains rather than primary and sub-domains. I have learned this the hard way in my last org. We started using sub-domains and it ended up email landing in spam for existing conversations as well.

to add to @Akash Bhat’s questions, do you need to β€œwarm up” sub-domains as you do with new domains? or does the credibility carry over from the parent domain?
