so i didnt change keywords being targeted. Instead i removed "similiar to purchases" and changed it to a bunch of interests. Audience size negligbly increased. So does that mean Google's matching algorthim has really gone down?

I don't think the algorithm is worse this year, so this is a tough one 🤔

looks like “similar to purchases” matching limited the algo when compared to their pre-defined interests. Could it be possible that the product is more broad that the algo was not able to find a proper lookalike for it? What category is this in if I may ask?

Its a verry broad category
