Don't have a personal anecdote but Zoho build their business through events in their early days ๐Ÿ™‚ (google it up)

You should participate in events at all stages. Don't leave any chance to engage with your audience in person. More so during early stage.

I used to do that at Typeset. We scored some of the biggest university deals by networking during those events. You must have a booth, otherwise it's very difficult to grab eyeballs. And throw in a speaking engagement, you're all set.

itโ€™s worth investing in events at early stage. if you want to test out, donโ€™t sponsor. only attend the events, keep your cost low by staying in Airbnb or B&Bs. but make sure to carry swag and distribute it to people you meet. itโ€™s a good branding exercise as well. DM and we can discuss in detail.

It's worth investing in early stages for 2 major reasons: 1) Brand awareness 2) it might not be good lead gen source initially but definitely helps in networking and it gradually helped us partner with a lot of SI tech giants in a span of 1 year...I can share my experience and how it helped.

Speaker slots are the best in terms of ROI followed by boots on the floor. Having a booth was a mixed experience in India, terrible in the USA. Smaller self hosted โ€œworkshopโ€ roundtable events also delivered good ROI.

Not sure if it makes sense if ticket sizes are small. Worked well for us for enterprise positioning.

Yes, it's important to be seen. Not everything you do needs to drive immediate ROI. Just be smart about it. Small booth, but more visible sponsorship - wifi sponsorship, or branded dustbins. Get a speaker slot, and offer to sweeten the deal by adding your product discounted in the goodie bag.

Branding through thought leadership is one of the best ways. Not all the RSVP of the event is going to be your ICP. You need to concentrate on the 45-60% of your ICP. Find out a way to engage with them only. 1. Through workshop. Run a workshop instead of panel discussion: drive your ICP to this workshop and get their database 2. Board room meeting: Run a 10-12 member boardroom meeting with senior decision makers from the rsvp.. this helps in networking with them and increasing the chances of pitching your product post and pre show Apart from this see a way to secure 1-1 meeting package as a part of your deliverable
