@rohit, yes, it does. I see it all the time. I requested a demo for Active Campaign and suddenly I start getting emails with articles that supposedly "fit my customer journey".

It seems to work as they have an option to unsubsribe to your email or newsletter if they don't want further updates. Anyways, we added that in our terms of use that any registration will get access to updates, newsletters, et .

I think it's fine to send some form of nurture campaign if someone signed up for a demo, but a full-blown marketing campaign is weird unless they specifically opted into it

Absolutely agree with @Sid, the problem is not adding someone to a newsletter...The problem is to set expectations early on and give the potential recipient full control over how they want to communicate
