around 40-50% total traffic comes into our demo page - much more than even the homepage. So the assumption is that most of it is bot traffic. this skews the metrics we look at. Has anyone had experience solving this before? Google gave me a bunch of solutions but want to see what has worked for y’all
k
You mean the landing page is the demo page? What's the source of these sessions that commence on the demo page?
n
never assume, double triple check
k
Doubt it's happening due to bot actions. Rarely do bots target a single page. Usually, they are spread across many pages/entire site
n
In Google Analytics 4 properties, traffic from known bots and spiders is automatically excluded

Its might be bot traffic, but croos check the server log files. Some times it show bot type, if its bot traffic. Or it can be spam attack if its some same IP.
n
looks more like spam attack
t
Check if any pattern of submissions or IP patterns or may be same device or many be same broswer that traffic coming from so you block that if possible.

we use this tool to solve bot traffic - https://www.clickcease.com/index.html maybe worth exploring for a month and see if this changes the traffic
