Organic traffic, content assisted signups/demos, behavioural metrics like bounce rate, time spent on page, and leading metrics like number of blogs published etc.

@Rohit heads growth at Keyhole and is a pro at measuring KPIs. He'll be the best person to help.
@Aishwarya Iyer - leads content at Astra Security and might be able to help you.

Hi @kinjal vora - happy to connect & discuss this in detail. We decide on KPIs mainly based on the main business goal (e.g. revenue, pipeline, qualified trials etc.). Here are some content marketing KPIs that worked for us: • Organic traffic to content pages/posts • Leads collected from content pages/posts (e.g. via lead magnet nudges, newsletter popups etc.) • Newsletter metrics like Open Rate and Click Rate We also used to track conversions (e.g. trial signups, demos booked) from content pages/posts, but we observed that it's very volatile, and depends on the type of content we create (educational content vs BoFU topics). @Priyanka Desai - thanks for tagging me!

Hey @kinjal vora +1 to everything @Rohit has mentioned. 1. Leads collected per content piece 2. Organic traffic These should be the most important metrics that you track wrt to your content. However, both of these are good metrics when you have a dedicated SEO team and a growth team that is working consistently on improving these metrics. While content plays a huge role in increasing these numbers, they're not standalone. The metrics have to differ for content writers, content marketers, designers, SEO executives, growth marketers, and anyone else in your team. One thing we've seen as being helpful is dissecting marketing efforts into sprints. If we're talking about individual performance review and goal setting, then it should be a conversation with the person itself as well and aligning their role with business goals. I'd be happy to connect and discuss this in detail. It's a little too diverse and has to take into account for personal career growth metrics as well. Thanks for tagging me @Priyanka Desai

Thanks for information. But I struggled with these metrics, because over last 2 quarters these numbers have not changed or moved positive. (Kind of stagnant) So it seemed immaterial to measure these as measure of efforts put in by the content team.

@Shaf @Rohit @Aishwarya Iyer what is the % growth that you generally seek in these metrics?
s
Depends on the baseline. For a few thousand organic session with consistent content efforts in place - creation and distribution a 10-15% month on month increase is achievable.
r
+1 to what Shaf said. Usually, we target a 7% to 10% increase in organic traffic month over month. You can also drill down your KPIs based on the efforts you're putting in - e.g. if you decide to optimize the existing content, then track an increase in traffic to those specific posts, vs if creating new content pieces, then see how those new content posts are performing. Hope this helps

This helps understand standards around. Sure will try to align with this thought process. 😊 thanks a ton guys
