I wanted to learn as well. Can we maybe arrange a session as part of the S11S? I know this is not what was intended out of @Muru;squestion but if we have multiple folks who want to learn compliance from a marketing POV- maybe a session can help. cc: @Shaf @Sid: thoughts?

i'm in! meanwhile, @Ashwin Sande, let's exchange notes?
s
Sure @Ashwin Sande - we will try and find the right guest speaker for this
a
@Muru: I have 0 info on this 😕 So no notes to share.

@Shaf, @Ashwin Sande, @Muru - sharing my two cents. There are basically three key buckets when it comes to data privacy: 1. Opt-in --> Before any marketing activity, get prospect consent 2. Opt-out --> Until individual unsubscribes 3. Double opt-in --> Consent to be collected at the time of getting the data (say ads, forms on web, landing page) + email confirmation to be done by the user/prospect before any marketing activity The below article gives a good gist of countries in different buckets [updated last week so more credible : ) ] https://help.hubsell.com/en/articles/2436605-which-eu-countries-are-opt-in-which-are-opt-out A few double opt-in countries include Dubai, India, Indonesia, Mexico, USA. PS: US I believe have different privacy rules for different states (California, Virginia, Colorado etc) PSS: India too has a data regulation bill pending from long. So companies need to accommodate accordingly once something materializes. Hope this TL;DR helps!

@Muru: will it be possible to share notes over a call so that maybe you can help with any question I might have. If yes, can we connect over a call sometime next week? I am travelling this week. Else, please let me know how can we share notes? e.g., a shared doc where we can add notes and comments (for questions etc). @Sid- would you like to join?
m
A shared doc would be best I think. Open to a call as well!
a
@Muru: shared doc will be best so that others can learn as well. DMing you a Docs link

Possible to please share this doc here as well?
