Is engineered wood furniture durable? Buying a large wardrobe, the other option is rubber wood which is 1.5x - 2x more expensive.

I don't think engineered wood will last for long if that's what you are looking at. It looks good, but is very damage prone. You would start seeing corners being damaged easily. Although my experience is with the engineered wood bed. The usage would be diff. for wardrobe vs bed.

If you don't move furniture around, it'll last long. I've been using my wardrobe for 5 years now, no issues except for minor dents, damaged corners. If you see yourself living at the same place for 7+ years buy better quality, if you want something for around 5 years and will probably buy better ones then, go for engineering wood
