Has anyone here recently converted their Airtel SIM to an eSIM? I sent the activation email and got back the response about email id not being registered. • I called 121 and could not find any option to speak to a human executive • I emailed 121@airtel and got an automated reply to call 121 • I raised several complaints in the Airtel app but they keep marking them resolved without responding. There is no option in the chat to talk to a human executive either • I tweeted and DMed @airtel_presence but did not get any response

Do you see your email registered on the Airtel Thanks app?

Visit a store, they will do it in 5min

There is a secret email address. Send email to: net@airtel.com (.com, not .in) They will call you back and resolve within 24-48h net = national escalation team I have been using this to get my stuff sorted since 2016 with them. 🙂

do you receive ebills? Use the same email address. Esim gets generated instantly.

@thousands-exabyte-97089 I do see it in the profile section with a check mark @adamant-greece-23551 Ah okay. I saw a post on some forum that they don’t do it in the store so I didn’t try it yet. @wide-twilight-82330 No ebills. Forgot to mention, I have a prepaid number @loud-glass-33663 omg what is this hack, thanks, let me try 😂 it really seems that airtel has dialled down a lottt on human customer care executives from all their support channels

@loud-arm-24251 I have not had a prepaid number with them. Mostly postpaid dongles and now a fiber connection. So YMMV. But I was in the same boat at one point in time - and I had complained how do I get in touch with them. And someone from their team had called me and asked me to drop an email to this email address --- and that they would call me instead 😎 Hopefully it works for you.

Sent an email to net@airtel.com. Let’s see. I’m travelling to Bali in 2 days so I was hoping to get a local sim there, and retain my Airtel as eSIM for OTPs etc. Sadly if this doesn’t work I will have to carry an extra phone

We all love a good secret ❤️ Thanks Saurabh.

tip: customer care of prepaid irrespective of operator is in general bad tip2: airtel family plan offers more or less the same amount of price for the number of connections if subscribed individually. I pay 1178.82 every month for 4 phones and 1 data sim, which comes to around 200/number/mo which is a bit higher than prepaid, but better service and benefits like data carry over. sadly they have updated the plan I have and reduced the number of connections from 4 phones to 3 phones I guess, and data card option is completely removed from website, it is still available at the customer service centers

@wide-twilight-82330 Do you get better customer support with Airtel Black over the normal (single) Airtel postpaid connections?
w
@loud-glass-33663 1. I haven’t interacted with them in recent past, 2. don’t have airtel black. At this point if I make any change to my plan I’ll lose the discounted price of 1178.82 I’m enjoying & it’ll bump up to 1500, so I am very careful. 😛

One of the biggest benefits of having postpaid on both Airtel & Jio - there is no small daily limit like 1-2 GB/day. The limits are monthly! More like broadband.

I had the same issue as well. I called a different number, 198, got in touch with a human, who put in the request for me.
It took 18 hours to get the email registered. I called at 4pm, I got the SMS saying email has been registered next day around 9:30am.

@red-oyster-35440 I dialled 198 from Airtel number , it says you are dialling invalid number .
