🗒️ I wrote the below note to myself to summarise the important points to keep in mind before giving a talk today. We have
TechFriday
in our company where one of us presents a talk using
UberConference
. Please feel free to add to this list because I know for sure this is raw and incomplete 🐼 Things to do - Ask questions to survey the audience for the talk
Have a poll on slack to understand the audience knowledge on the talk
- Share the agenda at the start of the talk - Ask questions in between to check whether people can hear you.
I once gave a talk and realised 5 mins after that nobody could hear me. And the great thing was I had switched off all notifications on slack, so nobody could get the message across unless I realised that it was too quiet :D
- Share some personal photos to build a connection with audience
Like photos of your cat or your current work location

Haven't given or heard a talk in ages, need to at least pickup with youtube or hangouts with devs 😅
