🚧 Current goal: Find a hobby which doesn't involve looking at a screen Recently @brief-branch-80482 posted an anecdote about how he got into cycling
My manager noticed me working too much and stopped reviewing my code until I got myself a "hobby that doesn't involve a screen".
I've picked up cycling due to that and recently did my first 100KM.

And today, I read an article about the EPL title race and how professional footballers (and coaches) handle pressure.
For many players, the pressure is at its height when the opposition are playing. Alan Shearer often tells the story of how, during Blackburn's tense race with Manchester United in 1994-95, he chose to paint his garden fence rather than watch United on television in an effort to escape the psychological torment. Ferguson would often head to the golf course to avoid being drawn into watching his closest rivals win again on television.
I am surely not going to play golf. But I feel it's high time I prioritised things like health etc. Who's with me on this one ? πŸ€”
Thinking of starting a channel #hobbies to discuss activities which don't involve looking at a screen πŸ–₯️ @lively-kitchen-45586 @refined-vegetable-38843 @rough-autumn-89795 What are your thoughts on this one ?

Not sure if a single hobbies channel will be able to handle multiple hobbies like football, cooking, bicycling

For now, I feel one should be enough. If the response is great, would love to create channels for individual activities
@lively-kitchen-45586 There's no hiding from this matrix. Might as well use it for our own benefit πŸ˜…

Playing guitar has been an amazing release channel for work / life stress. This is the thing with getting good at a skill. Once you learn something, nothing that's going wrong with career / life / workplace can take it away from you. One strum of the strings and everything becomes right with the world. πŸ˜‡

For me this has always been sports. Any opportunity I get I try and play badminton, football, Tennis or TT, which ever the people around me are up for playing.

Football is one of the few things I miss from my Pune days. There are grounds where people play. However I have to be very deliberate about going out and playing with them. Something which I haven't been able to do with my limited willpower.

YUSS. My cycling makes me stay sane and I made lots of new friends due to cycling πŸ™‚ Pretty sure I'd have burnt out otherwise.

On that note, I'm selling my Yamaha PSR i-455 keyboard and Merida acoustic-electric guitar in Bangalore. Got good enough at both that I can justify an upgrade now 😎 In case anyone here's interested, DM me.
