Hey everyone, I wanted your opinion on something. I have been thinking about applying to one company for some time and there's been many openings there recently. There are two positions I'm interested in. Junior developer and other is intern. Which one should I apply to? Little background, I have 1 and half year of experience as a freelancer, other 1 year at an MNC. I really want to join this company at any level.

What are your concerns regarding applying to Junior developer role ?
h
Whether I am good enough or not to get selected as a junior developer. Imposter syndrome. P.S. The current team has worked so much on open source and due to the nature of my previous work, I haven't contributed much.

Why not apply to both?

@high-insurance-37246 Why are you doing their job (rejecting / downgrading unsuitable candidates) yourself for free?

@tall-advantage-5586 Because I read at many places that it is bad indication to apply for multiple positions. Shows lack of clarity of yourself. @acceptable-flag-71699 good point! 😛 No point in over analysing. I will apply right away!😅🎉 Thanks man!

@high-insurance-37246 I want to share my experience on how I got on the good position, maybe this could help you. Every work requires trust and understanding and mutual support. Downgrading meaning you are not sure about yourself and can very easily be taken advantage off. Also, this means you will have to compromise on compensation as well. When I started I had no connection, no guidance, I made the same mistake but I learned. If you really want to work on something which interests you, then instead of asking for a job ask for a contribution, find what they are working on and find bugs, show them how to improve, suggest solutions and build rapport and trust. Eventually, if they find that you add value they will get you on-board for the position you desire and compensation you need. You will enjoy the work then. Start contributing to their open source projects. My 2 cents.
