@gray-scientist-12794 This would be great: A way to quickly search through the apps. Like a gesture that opens up the search bar along with the keyboard, and the user start typing. right away. (See how it's done in Evie Launcher, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=is.shortcut&hl=en_IN)

@gray-scientist-12794 I have used the app for 4 days and would like to share my observations which might be helpful for its betterment. The idea works out quite good. I have been reviewing the app from UI and UX POV. It does block visual distraction, when using the phone. I usually stock DND option right now. The biggest impact on my case was that I did not use secondary apps as frequently as I used to be, such as instagram, facebook, photo viewing app, messenger etc, because they were not visible in forefront, and I accessed them only when they came to my mind, and I see both good and bad points in this. My observations are - 1. Scheduling - It would be even more useful for me, if I could schedule this launcher to be active between specific time. Eg. I would be happy to have it active when I’m at work, so I dont get distracted to use other apps even if I use my phone for something. And when i’m off from my work ( say 6:00 PM) , the default launcher comes back. This way I’m living both lives. 2. Accessibility - I felt it uncomfortable to scroll/type to find an app, particularly the recent used apps and search input field is also quite small in height, some spacing setting could work out well. It could be a good way to have a section/divider to put the 3-4 recently used app on top of the screen. Alternatively, the app can also have categorization feature to keep them organized. E.g Folder feature that is already there. 3. Color Scheme - As a UI point, to make the app look uniform, all the app icons can be made in monochrome color ( mostly grayscale) to add consistency to the UX. May be, in future release add option to choose other monochromatic color scheme also, such as blues, greens.. to replace the current black and white option. The downside of it may be some difficulty in quickly locating the app, as we usually remember an app logo by its color. Over all, with current and core features, the app was able to solve the distraction problem for me. All these points are from a general user POV and might vary, and I understand that there are technical and UX challenges that comes into play. Whatsoever, hope my points are helpful in some or the other way. All the best. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Hi @crooked-daybreak-310 WOW, Thanks for this detailed response, 1. I am planning to add focus mode where in you can access just the apps you need for work/study and you cannot access those apps, this feature is linked to pomodoro, so as long as the timer is running you have to focus on the task. 2. currently I don’t think android supports scheduling default launcher, so this might not be possible 3. I had the search bar at the bottom, but some keyboard issue forced me to put it to the top, also will need to have a better implementation of character scroll, which I’ll do asap 4. have the monochromatic version or custom icon pack in mind, but lots of things before that are on priority.

seems interesting. All the best. πŸ‘πŸΌ
