Why don't remote indian community shift to discord now , now it has threads feature and we can archive the threads once they are done with no plan , what do other think ? We can create a poll and see what others suggest or think ? @calm-grass-85557

Is threads available on the web client? I don't see it.

I think because not all use discord and people mostly use Slack for work

The default behavior/mode on Discord is thread-less, while on Slack is with threads. I would like to stick to Slack, even if it means that you can't access old posts.

Discord offers better moderation tools as well. @kind-queen-6796 permission to create threads is not on by default for community servers for now. Mods have to enable it

Will be enabled for all on aug 17th

Threads on Discord are not as seemless as Slack. Slack was built around threads. Discord crammed threads in later. Also threads on Discord disappear after you are done with them, right?

They archive after a set time. The moment you send a new message, it gets unarchived. The implementation is good but it's not very convenient because old habits die hard.

slack wasn't built around threads. Threads came in much later.

Hey Sridhar, I am going to stick to Slack for now. The threads on Discord are temporal ones. I would have wanted the thread messages to be available to everyone, anytime, not only for 24 hs or a couple of weeks :( Don't worry about the archives, I am working on a way to make them accessible for everyone in the community. Hopefully, it ships before the Slack Pro trial expires.
