If the budget is not a bar and touch screen is not required, then what's a really good 15", heavy duty Windows laptop? For someone who uses MS Office heavily and is not a developer so WSL doesn't matter.

buy anything that has at least 8 GB RAM & an SSD Windows (updates in particular) is very IO hungry and HDD slows it down

Lenovo has launch a bunch of nice Ryzen laptops which are slim and have great specs for the price.

You can also check out the Asus Vivobook series on Flipkart. Slim and light laptops with decent specs at competitive prices

Looking at Lenovo and Dell because of their support network.

If budget isn't an issue, I'd personally go with XPS over Lenovo/Asus.

Lenovo X1 Carbon. The strength of ThinkPad's in a sleek and modern package

Might as well get that M1 macbook air just for the battery life, as it now also supports MS Office

M1 Macbook and Windows is not a great combination

Ah I thought MS Office is key requirement, otherwise yes, for Windows, gotta go with Lenovo or Dell.

Go with Lenovo. Dell definitely is price conscious but has lower build quality compared to a lenovo. No other brand remotely cuts it in the windows space. If you want an awesome experience though - I’d recommend the surface series but yeah - support is hard (they’re ramping up hard though). The machines pack a punch AND are super super portable!

If going for Dell buy something that sells at more than 50k. The ones less than that are of poor build. Have seen quite a lot of them fail in just 2-3 years of use.

@wide-twilight-82330 1 to 1.5L is comfortably in the budget. This is on a company budget
