I require a feature suggestion portal for my users. I should be able to configure the priority and communicate about the status/updates. The users should also be able to communicate either using a reply email or directly on the portal. The portal should support rich text editor. Any suggestions?

Why not point them to GitHub/GitLab with an Issues-only project? Those who really care won't be bothered to have an account there and you can have the issues regularly imported to actual project.

I was also thinking on the same topic. JIRA has a custom workflow which is easier to identify and keep track. However, I also wanted to find any other suitable alternatives.

Haven’t used this personally but I think many products use https://uservoice.com/ for that.
