Has anyone else been able to make payments post 1st Oct to Patreon?
I am afraid all international transactions (which don’t have a 2FA) are going to be blocked 😕

But I did not expect international payments to be affected…

Earlier, I had Paypal + Amex — but Paypal has already emailed saying that payments will not be going through anymore.

10/02/2021, 5:10 AMIsn't this a recurring payment? If yes, their payment processor will have to comply with the new emandate before it works with Indian cards. Also depends on your bank, but I think most major banks have made the necessary changes for compliance.

So there are two layers to this - your bank - for eg. ICICI and HDFC who issues the credit card and needs to update their systems according to RBI?
And then the payment processor like Stripe / PayPal.
Are you sure about the banks complying? What I felt was that banks will eventually comply but for now, no one is on board. Hence all the emails about payments failing and that you should pay the merchant directly…

10/02/2021, 5:52 AMCorrect. Some banks have claimed compliance (HDFC, Axis, etc.). But we'll see the truth of this only when the integration is done from payment processor's end.

11/01/2021, 4:47 AMChalo. Patreon has started working again. This required me to remove and add the card back.
Actually, as of now, most services are back to working once you have added and removed the card. For Patreon, I did not have to type in an OTP.
Strangely, even Paypal works without OTP in most cases (for manual payments and not automatic payments).
