My Macbook Pro 16" doesn’t go on battery optimisation mode anymore (it doesn’t stop charging at 80%) even though I’ve enabled it in the settings. It used work a couple of months back but I don’t remember when exactly it stopped. Anyone have a clue what might be causing this?

Try doing an SMC reset (de facto macbook fix for most issues). Alternatively, you can take a look at https://github.com/davidwernhart/AlDente It’ll allow you to override the charging upper limit.

Same happens with me. Battery optimization mode is unreliable. Will look at AlDente but I mostly don’t care about it now.

I’m now using AlDente since couple of days and it gets the job done, thank you@flat-morning-91037
