Yes. iirc lot of people here work remotely for a company outside India. There are many ways it can work. The simplest I’ve known/worked is that you work as a contractor for them. Every month you raise an invoice, and they pay you. You only have to pay taxes in india.

+1 to kaneki, I work for a UK based company, and I do exactly the same. I work in Indian timings since our culture is async. As for how to get that job, beats me, because I've had companies reach out to me. My outbound job apps never get any replies.

This entire slack is full of people doing just that 😄 Salary is processed depending on the type of role and the company. Some companies may use Deel. Others may hire you as a contractor and pay via Transferwise, Payoneer, etc.

Hi Rusy, This thread might be helpful to understand the "getting paid" question. The former bit, getting a job from a US-based company, is possible but does require some bit of persistence. Happy to answer any specific questions in that regard.

I don't have a US-remote job but I agree with @wooden-raincoat-49327’s points, Outgoing job requests will mostly get rejected unless you have 5-6+ years of experience (they have for me). I've seen two better ways so far: 1- Either you get referred by someone in the company 2- or you have a very good Open-Source profile (I'm working on both 😅)
