Planning to fit battery power backup in my house, just for 3-4 fans, a couple of power sockets, few lights, Does anyone have any recommendation on what branch of inverter and battery is good in terms of longevity, backup etc

I’ve been using Luminous UPSes for last few years with different brands of lead acid batteries (150 AH+). Works good for me.

Luminous is good, but their mobile app connectivity features suck and never work. You can use them as dumb traditional UPSes and it’s good

you could see they battery %, estimated charge/discharge time, powercut trends, etc. But the bluetooth connectivity stopped working. I tried a few times then read reviews that it’s broken for everybody so I don’t use the app anymore

But does the battery work and give you power when you need? runs away

haha yea. I got 150Ah luminous battery along with it. Even with longer 6-7 hours power cut I’ve never run out. My whole house is connected to the inverter and not just selected appliances

I don't remember the UPS's company we were using in our old home, but the battery was Amaron and it's the best, used to 2 days of backup. We never connected any heavy appliances, only fans, tubelights, charging mobile/laptop etc.

I have a Luminous 1kva with 2 150AH batteries. Pulls through everything at home 🙂

I have a Microtek 1650 Va with 2 x 150 Ah Exide batteries. Probably an overkill for our requirements but keeps me working uninterrupted even when we have power cuts - which is rare. One good thing about Microtek is that their customer service is quite solid and they have attended to any issues (even when my older batteries were failing) within 24h.

On the topic of Inverters and batteries, I’m letting go of my setup - 150AH Luminous battery and a “i dont remember what brand” 800va inverter - Pick up from Gottigere, Bangalore (Please google that :-D). Pay what you think is fair. Available Next weekend (The 27th-28th Nov Weekend).
