Can anyone recommend a good sourcing agency in India which may have helped your company hire engineers in India?

You mean doing technical recruitment on company’s behalf? Or just handling the payroll and legal procedure around hiring?
c
I mean finding suitable resumes/people and doing a pre filtering to ensure there's a basic match and then our company recruiters can take over

Top hire.

Thanks @many-intern-37109 do you have personal experience of hiring via them? What do they charge?
m
Yup, used it for hiring at Fynd. It was a much better experience than screening not so relevant profiles on Angelist. The quality of profiles were better too. I am not sure about the price, and I would recommend you to try it out

If you want to hire early career FAANG aspirants, use Scaler. If you like to hire good Product Engineers, go for GeekTrust, and I will DM you a few recruiters worth paying.

Slightly off-topic where should self-taught non-pedigree developers hang to get a foot in the door? The conventional route of recruiters/referrals doesn't seem very promising.

Thanks all. @victorious-energy-56764 awesome, please do share the recruiters. I’m looking for more senior folks right now

We found scaler folks to be so-so, lacking in fundamentals. Good for entry level maybe, but you need to spend time training them up.

@victorious-energy-56764 if you can DM me the list of recruiters worth paying for as well, I'd appreciate it πŸ™‚
