What email clients are you using? I have been a Newton user since 2014 and am on their paid plan - but they sent an update a month ago which has really degraded service (syncing across devices). Looking to explore other options. In my exhaustive testing a year ago, Polymail was the closest that comes to Newton in terms of features and UI -- but they price their plans according to number of accounts and at $29/mo, it is a bit more than I'd like to pay. So exploring before I switch. For some context, I have 5 x Google accounts & 1 x MS365 account. Newton is $50/year which is a good price point IMO.

Spark comes with a big caveat that they store you email passwords with them, unencrypted. They do this to keep syncing mails to their service even when you’re not using the client. And also for some additional features such as “send later”.
I tried Mailspring (https://getmailspring.com/) a while back and it was good. Its free and open-source as well.

I tried MailSpring again and their desktop client is pretty neat. I liked it. I had trouble setting up my MS365 account though but they do a good job. Only downside for me is that there is no phone client. Right now, I have settled on Canary while Newton hopefully fixes its issues. It has a decent desktop client (not as great as MailSpring's) and a potent mobile client.

What's the subscription fee? I cannot find anything about pricing on Canary's website

Canary is a one time payment. I have seen from their reviews though that mobile apps and desktop apps charge separately. (Buying one does not gift you the other). Mobile is INR 1,799 and desktop app is 1,799 as well. They have a generous 30 day trial which I am on at the moment -- so haven't made the purchase as yet. So can't verify the statement above ☝️

this has come recommended, and I am starting a trial for it today - https://www.emclient.com/
Is there a client that supports 2way sync with the filters that I have setup in Gmail - Import the rules I create in Gmail and add back the rules I add from the client in Gmail. Not able to shift away just for this reason.

@bland-gold-7090 If you have filters & rules defined on GMail, it will be fired before your client syncs emails. I don't think you need to have them offline as well. Most clients -- use the GMail sync API instead of downloading email via IMAP / POP and the filters will work.

I meant allowing me to create, edit the rules from the client as well
