I'm trying to create my own mailing list using a sign up form from my landing page and I'm wasting a lot of time trying to over engineer the solution. I need some tips to get out of my engineering mindset and move over to the entrepreneurial / founder mindset of shipping fast. How have you fellow engineers / designers dealt with this ? Also back to my original question, What is the easiest way to get a mailing list up and running. Any services with generous free tiers that you're aware of ?

@rough-application-24965 Thanks a lot. It looks like, the email templates are pretty limited in revue. Do you have any platform in mind for sending custom emails ?

I use https://emailoctopus.com/ for sending out the RI newsletter and it has an option to support HTML emails (customisation)

@able-xylophone-142 I checked out mail chimp but honestly, their product seemed to be too overwhelming for my needs.
Thank you @calm-grass-85557 I'll check it out ๐Ÿ™

I second @able-xylophone-142 Mailchimp - once you create a form, they give you a button widget code or even host your sign up page for you. Most website templates (for eg on carrd or similar services) plug-in easily to Mailchimp.

Thank you @acceptable-summer-68562, I'm playing around with revue and emailOctopus at the moment. I'll give this a shot as well ๐Ÿ™‚
@loud-glass-33663 I see. Thank you for sharing your insights. If this thing gains traction, there will come a point where I eventually switch to mail chimp ๐Ÿ™‚

If you are okay with self-hosting try this one https://github.com/knadh/listmonk

@rough-application-24965 The annoying engineer in me says yes to self hosting. But I need to refrain from this for now ๐Ÿ˜†

I am experimenting with Sendinblue right now. The best part is they have no limits on the number of emails you can have.
