Hey guys, Planning on getting a macbook. What are your recommendations?

If you don't have extremely heavy workloads, M1 Air 16GB is sufficient for general development. I'm tempted by the new XDR Promotion displays, but not sure if they justify the price jump as I'd mostly be looking at the external monitor. If the extra ports and magsafe is useful for your workflow, go for it. There is a 2k something bump for better charger in base model, which is worth it.

Don't get the 128GB model. Even with everything in cloud, you'd run out of space. All other specs are fine and you can pick them as per your workflow.

Any M1 laptop justifies the purchase. I had the M1 Air 8GB since last year and it's amazing! Just bought the 14 inch M1 Pro 16GB, and it's wonderful. I know 2 lacs for a laptop is a lot, but it's got the best battery backup, screen, speakers I've seen on a laptop ever. And with the new pro, you get the extra cores, ports, etc which is a lot better than 2020 models with just two ports (out of which you'd use one for charging, it's a joke!)

Also, if you know a college going kid, buy the Mac with their student id to get around 7-8K of discount.

Specs- 512GB/16GB M1 Pro variant (The one for 1,94,900) I had to call all the stores in NCR. Then, I found one at Delhi (Lajpat Nagar) and Faridabad (Nubox), ended up buying from Nubox.

I saw it on Amazon once (last week of november), it said delivery in two weeks so I couldn’t have ordered. There’s definitely scarcity of these 2021 models everywhere.

Bro btw it's crazy expensive here 3L for the model I want (32G ram + 10 core cpu) Whereas it's 2L in the US ans 2.3L in UAE

Hey @broad-camera-13514 following up, did you ended up buying one? I am looking at 512GB/16GB one but planning to get it from UAE. I’m wondering how much will be the price difference. Would apple store location set to UAE enough to get the estimate? I see a price diff of 22k on the site btw

Nope still evaluating and finding leads in uae. Decided on the model though, it's almost 50-60K for me
