Those who fly frequently what are the reward programs you've signed up for which was worth it?

Star Alliance for international. For domestic, I don't use any. I have the Club Vistara, but it's not that great.

Star Alliance once you get to Gold is pretty cool - lounge, showers, seat upgrades, etc. I reduced travelling 2 years before COVID and don't have Gold anymore. But unlimited Priority Pass takes care of the Lounge needs of me and family.

@helpful-gigabyte-47939 How do you become a member, star alliance says to be a member directly on the airline website, but how do we get to Gold then if they don't offer anything? I am enrolled with Aeroplan Air Canada.

You just sign up at their basic level for free and rise up to Gold by being a frequent flyer. You can't buy a Gold membership, you have to fly a lot. In essence, it'll be hard to get to Gold if you don't take at least 4-5 trips per year on Star Alliance partner airlines (approximately US-India length). If you don't expect that much travel, you will stay at Silver but you can spend the points on flight upgrades or to buy stuff from their catalog.

@helpful-gigabyte-47939 To clarify, sign up on Air Canada loyalty program right? As Star alliance itself doesn't have any program. And to get the points I need to book every star alliance flight from air Canada website then?

@bright-rainbow-19748 Yes, you just sign up for the loyalty program for any of the Airlines that are part of the Star Alliance. I signed up with Lufthansa, for example.

@helpful-gigabyte-47939 and you book every flight through Lufthansa website? Even non Lufthansa one(but part of star alliance) ?

You can book through any airline that is part of the Star Alliance and add your frequent flier number there. But it makes sense to get a loyalty program for an Airline that you'll use most often (depends on what routes you fly most often)

Oh okay, so every alliance member gives a field for that number while booking. Thanks for the information @helpful-gigabyte-47939 🙂
