Does anyone have experience with “smart home” setup? Especially Apple HomeKit enabled.

I have setup few smart bulbs and sockets. It's scheduled to turn on the lights some time before sunset and turns off all exterior lights after 11:30. "Alexa, goodnight" turns off all internal lights. There's good integration with android phones, haven't tested apple. The smart lights are from Wipro, sockets from wipro and some other brand, but most brands are just rebranded stuff running "Tuya" inside. So no need to use many apps, just the one from Tuya works fine across brands. Although they were skeptical initially, The parent satisfaction factor is high on this. I even heard my dad recommending this to one of his friend last week.😂

@glamorous-mouse-696 Doesn’t Alexa violates privacy in all sense? I’ve been putting off buying it because of this reason. What are your thoughts?

Alexa is optional (Added for convenience of parents). We can control with App directly too. What is the threat angle you are worried about with Alexa? If we get into the privacy and security end, all these smart devices are running unverified code on chinese hardware. It is possible to setup an isolated network for these devices if we feel like it. We can even reflash the OS on these with an open source one for some more peace of mind, but how can we ever be sure?
https://www.home-assistant.io/ can be setup too if needed.
