Thanks @polite-secretary-64403, great compilation! One request - Can you put number of entries next to the Years of experience and weekly effort tables as well? It will be useful to know.

adding a column with company name helps for new people searching jobs if thats comfortable to persons who already working @polite-secretary-64403

looking at the survey, have a few questions 1. is it a direct exchange conversion of Rs74 per USD? Why not take PPP as that is direct comparison for the same set of goods across countries? 2. If no PPP, then why not link to the Big Mac index from the Economist to calculate this? The Big Mac index is published by The Economist and is based on the theory of purchasing-power parity (PPP), according to which exchange rates should adjust to equalise the price of a basket of goods and services around the world  The URL is at https://www.economist.com/big-mac-index Apologies if this has been discussed here but taking a direct $$ to Rs comparison is not correct due to different labor markets
If not, then how about a converter like this? http://salaryconverter.nigelb.me

@gifted-airplane-45450 Would love to see this if you have some time to explore further. The sheets are free to clone and run your own reporting. 🙂 @polite-secretary-64403 has done a fantastic job running the reports -- even though we didn't think we'd do that initially (we would just share raw data). But we haven't discussed PPP at all. Would love to get your expertise on these. The goal of the survey for the RI community was to just show what is out there and to help you negotiate better the next job.

regarding the above. We wanted the survey participant to comfortable in filling the survey and feel not pressured to enter any detail they don’t want to. We tried our level best to make sure we had few inputs from the participant - so that is it quick and smooth process. We all have filled surveys and have left the survey half way just because we were not comfortable with the question. Our intention was to get as many people to fill the survey - because “The bigger the sample size, the greater the accuracy”

@loud-glass-33663 dont want to create more work here for anyone but you can take the source code from the 2nd link i posted above or use this public one from Posthog; basically, the conversion numbers has 300+ cities and 100+ countries; it takes into account cost of living, income tax, and currency rates (mostly). The base data comes from World Bank so they just read it correctly and display it. as I’m not a coder, I dont know how to bring about the code to incorporate it into Google Sheets however, willing to give ideas or suggestions so that I can test the output. happy to discuss with a few folks here on how to do this

Hey, I just wanted to say that this is a great initiative on collecting the data and building analysis. Could we have mean salary data as well along side median? Perhaps even some graphs of Experience vs Salary and Weekly effort vs Salary might make for some cool visualisations!
p
@brainy-shampoo-57332 Added Average along with Median Access the survey data   here We have had 126 entries by now. 💃
