Hey tribe, anyone here used ‘Record and Play’ front end automation tools like Selenium IDE, TestProject, Mabl, Applitools etc? Want to get feedback on these tools and if they scale with more complexity/test-cases.

As per my experience record and play works for simple cases as soon as you want to write complex tests you will miss a proper programming language

I heard from an Indian company where they created 3k+ tests for their mobile app using TestProject. They did move on from that later (unclear on reason). So curious to understand what specific challenges

I tried Testim recently, it worked okay the day I wrote the tests. I was excited! Wanted to show the CTO, how I created 10 tests in 10 mins, come demo time, only 2 tests worked.

Ohh man. Sorry to hear that. Any idea why those failed? Was your test environment not stable (or) tests themselves were flaky?

Tests were flaky, as there were no new deploys to QA in the period between.
