Hey everyone! Looking for some advice. What's the best route to take if I'd like to get into freelance technical content writing? Areas: All things programming, software development & data science I'm specifically looking for opportunities where the article would be attributed to the authors (as in published under the author's name on the company's blog) Any advice is appreciated! TIA!

@able-grass-12516 there are two types in technical writing: 1. Writing blogs about technical subjects like javascript, SaaS, and others 2. Technical documentation: if it's this, you've to write technical jargon for user manuals for complex systems to help the users understand the system in a simple language. First of all define which category you want to go in. Depending on that, you can contact companies on LinkedIn to see if they need a content writer freelancer. Thanks @faint-energy-11966 for mentioning me!

Thank you @lemon-dinner-11115 and @faint-energy-11966 ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, I'm more inclined towards writing tech tutorials than writing developer documentation & the like. I've been writing for close to 1.5 years now. Just not in a professional capacity yet. Earlier, my focus was on building a portfolio of published articles--and I now have close to 40 good ones. So the next best step was to leverage previous experiences to land a paid opportunity. (But I'm stuck here for a long time now) I've been applying through LinkedIn. But haven't quite found the right fit.

@able-grass-12516 I've found so many leads on LinkedIn for last two years now. Since I'm working full time now, I don't look for more of freelance stuff anymore. But follow the right hashtags and you should be able to find so many places you can apply to!

Would like to see your profiles! ๐Ÿ™‚ I lead the Technical documentation revamp for Lightning last quarter and worked on creating an internal Documentation System.
