Folks, anyone on Gigster here? How do you get an invite to join the platform?
l
Hey @millions-solstice-56787 I have asked for the process. Earlier we had an invite page from where I could have easily gotten you an interview - but now that the Network has grown quite a bit, they have removed that. The direct way right now is to apply via their Join page here: https://jobs.lever.co/ionicpartners/ But I have asked around if there is still a referral method in play. Will send you an update in a day or so.

@loud-glass-33663 Thank you for asking around, really appreciate it. How has your experience with Gigster been btw?

@millions-solstice-56787 I joined them very early on. I think I was in the first 30 folks or so in the network. Those days it was good fun. Lots of projects and opportunities to learn on the job - as they took on just about anyone as clients. I have not worked with them recently from the past 3 years or so. As they have been acquired and changed their focus to serving mostly only enterprise clients, a lot of them requiring US Work Auth, it hasn't been worth it. A lot of work now is also T&M based -- so not as much fun. Also, there isn't a lot of new work being posted. So much so that I rejoined their Slack just to ask around for you. Otherwise, I had left the Slack group as well. Earlier, when it was milestones based, you could deliver stuff quickly (if you knew what you were doing) and as a result it was quite lucrative.

@loud-glass-33663 thank you for sharing your insights. I have never used any such platforms before, have always done cold reach. However, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find bigger contracts as my rates increase, so was wondering if I should give this a try.
