Hey guys, I am looking for side projects(frontend) for my students to help them develop their portfolio (I am running a non-profit initiative to teach adivasis programming). If you do have any project in mind, feel free to ping me. Edit:preferably real life projects as I would like to increase their exposure and build up their network.Stack will be html, css,js.

@calm-daybreak-48413 what kind of tech/ project you have in mind ?

Increasing order of complexity: • About page for themselves. • Their static resume. • Static gallery page with photos of their home/surroundings. • Their own static portfolio page. • Scrapbook page for themselves with something like disqus widget. • Todo app with svelte and no backend. • ^ add local storage. • ^ replace with firebase. • Dynamic portfolio with firebase. • Dynamic gallery of images with firebase. • Their own scrapbook with firebase. • Their own journal/blog.

@polite-secretary-64403 The tech stack we will be using - HTML,CSS, JavaScript. Not looking for very complicated projects as they are beginners😅.But enough so that they can learn the required skills.I will be anyway mentoring them from behind. I know they are a lot of projects on the net,but I asked here as I would like to increase their exposure and build up their network.

WordPress, then ? I am asking because we can look as some NGOs who are looking at getting minor tweaks done. Your students can work on their dev/staging. Real life projects might get them excited and more relevent experience ?

That will help out, though I myself haven't used wordpress😅.Yes definitely real life projects will give them the confidence needed and that was my intention all along.
@dry-monkey-93718 I was looking more into real-life projects as I felt that would be a better option.

You can judge how familiar they are with programming and take that call.

Hi @calm-daybreak-48413, This list is also good to look at, https://learnersbucket.com/examples/interview/30-frontend-projects-to-excel/ This website also is very good. Good thing with this is it provided designs so it will be very easy for beginner to improve their HTML, CSS and js skills https://www.frontendmentor.io/challenges PS: I also run a discord server where I give free web dev mentoring sessions

@calm-daybreak-48413 Some project ideas based on some of the hobby projects that I had created when I was starting out: • Clone of some popular games like Monopoly (doesn't need to have BE, players can play locally) • Rich Text to Markdown converter • Basic Spotify clone using Spotify API (features can include audio player, playlist creation, and queuing. Data can be saved to localstorage) • A video calling app using WebRTC • Maze game or Sudoku (will increase exposure to DS Algo)
