<< Looking for Volunteers >> Quick Background : There’s a school dropout (10th pass, 2020) who cannot afford to do her 11th/12th anymore (lost time and income in CoViD years) so she’s now thinking about directly going for a diploma in IT instead. She’s based out of Bengaluru and she needs help in understanding what her options are. So I was thinking who better to guide her on this than our own RI tribe 🙂 Anyone who’s interested in sparing 15-20mins for this (today or tomorrow) please DM me your number and time-to-connect. Ideally, we want to talk to someone who has specific knowledge about diploma options available for 10th pass students. Thanks 🙏

Hi Abhishek! Maybe this is also an option: Try checking in with folks at navgurukul?

@calm-grass-85557 I have few questions: 1. why IT- is this her choice? 2. If IT does she have funds to afford a simple desktop+internet so that she can practice at home and keep in pace with institute. there are ITIs accept 10th pass students.

Thanks Amit for recommending NavGurukul 👍 Amita, to answer your questions quickly: 1. Yes 2. We will make sure she has all the required support (laptop, internet) but looking to get clear steps on how to proceed with Diploma course. A diploma might provide her structure and routine to get some momentum.

If homeschooling is an option you want to consider: http://www.ignou.ac.in/ I am not sure if they have diploma, but I think if you want to do bachelors, you can do their 2 year course for very cheap and then pickup a bachelors course. Please do some research incase you want to go out of country because for VISA validation they will ask for a valid degree and sometimes IGNOU may not be available.

(I think you can also do diploma in IGNOU, maybe check their course list)

Hi, my experience with ignou was very bad. So won't be recommending it. I was enrolled in PG Diploma in computer application. No communication from them when exams are happening, when assignments are due etc.
