Hi everyone, I was wondering how do you folks come up with estimates for a feature? Do you've like a checklist? I noticed majority of my estimates in development work were incorrect, would appreciate wisdom around this!

best approach - retrospect
retrospect last 3 features, and take more buffer if you feel good
note down things which took more time than you estimated.

we want to be competitive, control that feeling

This is for planning.
For execution -  achieve dead serious single task focus flow, no deadline nothing, but fully focused on single task and in a flow state of completing what you want to do

Quote: 2x to 3x because it takes that long. 

There is a fundamental rule in software is that everything takes 3 times longer than you think it should take. Even if you know this and take this into account. :D
