Hey folks, How can I limit the bandwidth my xbox uses? As soon as I start a download, it eats up all the bandwidth and internet struggles on other devices. Even 480p streaming on YouTube starts failing.

Time to upgrade either your internet connection or your router. 😉 But I'm surprised, since even cheapest ones from the ISP support some form of QoS these days.

So, Airtel gave me a Huawei Router for the fiber connection. This was only like last year. As per their official website, these GPON routers don't seem to support bandwidth limit controls.

You could buy a

cheap

router that has QoS support and put it before your ONT (ONT in bridge mode). Or if you have the budget, buy a nicer router and manage all your internal network using it (QoS, DHCP, DNS, Pihole, Firewall, Remote access, etc.). The ONT then just acts as a dumb conduit to the ISP.
